It should be entirely expected that with diminishing funding for the arts and creative industries the ability of working class children to take part and excel has been diminished. There’s some amazing British talent around right now, but increasingly if you can’t afford to stay at home with the folks footing the bill it’s incredibly difficult to focus on your art.
