More than 14m travelled to UK music events in 2022, while concerts and festivals generated an estimated £6.6bn of tourism spend in 2022 as millions of Britons and international visitors travelled to hear live music in the UK, according to UK Music.

The West Midlands makes an appearance on page 44 of the report, with music tourism spend approaching $433 Million, creating more than 4000 jobs. The midlands plays a significant role in shaping various genres, and the report praises the excellent music departments of both Coventry and Birmingham City Universities.
